Description

'I want to be brave, to fight my fears, to stop being scared of nonesense things, to face my enemies and make them run away...I want to be mentally and physically strong to stand the adversity, to handle my own little critic, to reach balance, Mens sana in corpore sano...I want to be patient, because we can't fight who we are, patient to let the time go, because we can hear from the past, shout to the future but we can only act in the present, patient to let your wounds heal, to learn to appreciate what you have, patient with myself to stop expecting perfection in a second...I want to become wise to understand myself and the world, to grow up a personality, to become a person, to stop fearing questions for its answers or the absence of them, because wisdom is power to lead your life.'

Please read the meaning of the work because it actually is more than half of the real artwork ^^

This is an artwork made for me for its meaning but that I've found quite... global, because I think that's the key to be happy, and all humans want to be happy. "Mens sana in corpore sano" is latin, in English it means "A healthy mind is a healthy body"

Now the work itself is quite symbolic, note that the fact that the background looks like a cathedral or a church or some religious space doesn't mean it's related to any god. I just used that background because I found it beautiful and useful for what I wanted to do. The girl in the middle represents myself and would represent any other, it'd be the look that we know, not the look we have for others it's our true self with our hidden fears and weakness. Then I wanted to split the whole meaning in 2 parts, the human and the animal because I wanted to add more symbolism. The wolf represents courage in many cultures and I think it's a very elegant and powerful animal. I also thinkt it's more of an instinct we all have that appears in dangerous situations(related to what I said before). Now the girl on the left, represents a warrior, the strength. Here I searched a stock that would fit my vision I thought about placing a real warrior like someone with a sword but it was totally wrong, because it wouldn't represent or at least it would represent only half of what I wanted to express with STRENGTH, even though it has a physical side, you can be strong in many other situations. The girl on the right... it's a bit hard to explain because it might look like it doesn't really represent patience in general but that's because it has more of a personal meaning. I'm a obsessive person and what drives me crazy and makes me stress is the fact that sometimes I can't do a thing or I can't do it in the exact moment. I recently discovered that yeah I'm not a patient person, maybe I can be patient to play with a cat but I'm not patient with myself, I'm not patient with others, I'm not patient when I'm doing certain things and that ends up in frustration. For me patient makes you a balanced person. And finally the turtle, ancient symbol of wisdom. It's also very related to patience. It also represents time and age. And the whole work is also split in like two parts, the left part would be FIRE, representing the things you can actually forge with your effort, and the right part would be WATER and represents what you can achieve with time and dedication.
